Talking ICE London with Alan Pepperell

Alan Pepperell, the retail director of Spotlight Sports Group provides his thoughts on what to expect from Spotlight Sports Group and others at this year’s ICE London conference.

As ICE London is nearly upon us, just how excited are you to get back to the ExCel for this year’s conference?

This feels like the return to normality for the first time since 2020 with ICE returning to its regular February slot. The exhibition is always a highlight for SSG with the opportunity to meet new and existing customers across the 3 days.

Finally, what do you predict to be a key area the industry will be focusing on in 2023?

The past 18 months have seen the retail sector bounce back from the impact of COVID and I am excited to see the continued innovation in the sector. All customers are investing in their retail estates, and the emphasis on the customer experience is great to see. Rather than talk about a shop of the future, we are seeing development in shops today.
