Talking ICE London with Rob Black

Rob Black, the B2B sales director of Spotlight Sports Group, provides his thoughts on what to expect from Spotlight Sports Group and others at this year’s ICE London conference.

As ICE London is nearly upon us, just how excited are you to get back to the ExCel for this year’s conference?

ICE is always a highlight in the calendar and we’ll be eagerly planning and looking forward to it, as we are every year. It’s good to see it back in its normal February slot as it gives the industry a real emphasis to start the year in the right direction.

What is the most exciting part of ICE London for you this year and what are you most excited for visitors to see from Spotlight Sports Group?

The thing we always get most excited about is meeting our clients and networking with the leaders in the industry. The iGaming industry is so global that a number of our clients will visit the UK only once a year.

It’s a great way to catch up with these contacts and to meet new ones as well. From a Spotlight Sports Group perspective, we’ll be talking to customers about the successes we’ve had in creating localised content builds, powered by our own bespoke content. The World Cup executions were a particular highlight for 2022!

Finally, what do you predict to be a key focus for the industry in 2023?

From a UK perspective, we’re still eagerly awaiting the publication of the government white paper and look forward to seeing what impact that has on the various businesses. Globally, my US colleagues will be looking to see which US states are next to regulate as well as whether the change in Brazilian leadership signals a change in regulatory approach there too.
